About the Owner
Dave Sowers, the president, began his career in the automotive industry in 1981, working as a body technician and restoring antique cars for Burton H. Upjohn, of Upjohn National Leasing. In 1985, he went to work as an assistant manager and estimator for a collision repair shop.
In 1992, Dave moved to a larger shop with 23 employees and became General Manager. In 2000, Dave attained an associate’s degree, in business administration, from Lake Michigan College. In 2003, he purchased Shephard Body Shop.

Shephard Body Shop was established in 1971 in Portage, Michigan. In 1990, the business was relocated to Paw Paw, Michigan. The 12,500 sq. ft. shop was built on a 5-acre parcel off of M-43 Highway. In 2003, a 2,500 sq. ft. building was built behind the existing shop.
In September 2003, Sowers Enterprises, Inc. purchased the business.
Shephard Body Shop is a proud member of several organizations such as I-CAR, ATEG, ASA of Michigan, NFIB (National Foundation of Independent Businesses), and the Paw Paw Chamber of Commerce.
We have the training and equipment to work on aluminum repair. Customer service and satisfaction are our number one priority!
